[VS] Stargate: SG-1 *Spoilertopic*

Ik was SG-1 een beetje vergeten na aflevering 12 van seizoen 9, maar dat heb ik afgelopen week goed gemaakt.
Wat een vette cliff-hanger zeg!

Ben het met trekscraper eens dat de eerste 20 minuten niet veel beloofden, het standaard 'SG-1-komt-aan-in-middeleeuwse-stad' verhaallijntje leek weer uit de kast getrokken te worden. Gelukkig kwam er daarna wat meer vaart in.
Die supergate was groot, maar die Ori schepen die eruit kwam waren helemaal huge! En ze zagen er echt mooi uit (veel details enzo), in tegenstelling tot die Gouald schepen, die blijven er belachelijk uitzien imo.

Ik ben niet van plan om spoilers te lezen, maar het lijkt me duidelijk dat hier een reset button gebruikt gaat worden. De helft van de main-castmembers is op het einde van ep. 21 omgekomen.

Er was zo'n time machine dind waar Daniel met zijn poten aan heeft gezeten, en er gebeurde niks, nou 3x raden wat er in S10 toch gaat gebeuren, zeker geen herhaling van Window of opportunity

Ben is gaaf inderdaad. Alleen vind ik zulke resets altijd zonde. Maar in dit geval zal er weinig aan te doen zijn.

Dat was geen time machine ding en roepen dat het wel zo is, is net zo zinloos als roepen dat die in reckoning ook een time machine is.

vind echt jammer dat jack er niet meer echt is in laatste season, ik hoop dat op zijn minst nog een bij rolletje geven in season 10

And, of course, when we called him to ask him to do that, he said, 'Just one?' So it was nice to know that he wanted to come back.

"And it's actually kind of a testament to the environment we have here. People miss it when they're gone. It's just a fun place to work, and it's a fun show to work on. That's why everybody still works their butt off and why we're still on the air, I guess, because it shows on the screen."

Anderson left the show after Season Eight to spend more time with his daughter in California. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada, Anderson said he had permission from his 7-year-old to go back to work.

"[Wylie] said, 'Yeah sure, Dad. If you want to go back to work, you can. I'm okay.' So I said to her, 'Well, what about me? Maybe I'll miss you too much.' And she said, put her hand on me and said, 'Dad, you'll be okay.'"

"I think we've been around awhile," said Anderson joking to Space Channel about the two-hundredth episode. "What we're celebrating is longevity, age, old folks, and the young people who watch them."

Stargate SG-1's tenth season and Stargate Atlantis's third season will premiere on July 14 on SCI FI Channel in the U.S.

Hoe denken jullie trouwens dat SG-1 verder gaat verlopen? Blijft de Ori een serieuze dreiging of verslaan ze deze ook relatief snel? Als ze met tijdmachines aankomen en dat soort trucs blijft er natuurlijk weinig over. Ik zou graag zien dat de Ori serieus een lastige tegenstander wordt en dat de Aarde veel verliezen zal lijden. Zoniet, dan wordt het wel erg lastig om een nóg sterkere vijand te verzinnen en zie ik niet veel hoop voor SG-1 na seizoen 10.

En ja, de Ori zijn eigelijk Anciets, dus ik vind dat de Ori een serieus grotere bedreiging mogen worden voor de aarde dan de Goa'uld ooit waren geweest. Zal ook wel zo realistisch zijn eigelijk.

dan ben ik benieuwd over die geruchten over een vijand nog machtiger dan de ori... ben heel erg benieuwd aangezien de ori zo'n beetje al bijna godelijk zijn... heb je het echt over een godelijke macht

Anubis was ook een soort van god, omdat ie ''opgestegen'' was door Oma Desalla. Misschien wordt daar ook nog wel wat mee gedaan, de opgestegen Ancients.

Geruchten? Ik zei dat áls ze de Ori weer makkelijk verslaan (zoals de Replicators) het lastig gaat worden om met een nog sterkere vijand aan te komen.

Stargate SG-1 10x11 The Quest, part 2, wordt op dinsdag 9 januari 2007 uitgezonden op Sky One. Woensdags kunnen we het via de gebruikelijke manier bekijken. Dan hoeven we gelukkig niet als de Amerikanen te wachten tot scifi channel de laatste 10 afleveringen hervatten in April.

"[SG-1 gets] trapped on a space ship stuck in a time dilation field and they live out roughly 50 years of their lives -- just our team," Cooper said. "One of the things the fans have always talked about is that they love when the team is together. And so we put them together for 50 years, just them! And you see the relationships that develop and how they evolve.

"And then, of course, as science fiction allows you to do, we just undid it all. I think it was kind of a fun way to say goodbye to this era of SG-1."

The writers originally planned to end with a cliffhanger finale, anticipating another renewal. But when word came in August that SCI FI did not want an eleventh season of the show, they had to rethink how to end SG-1's run on the network without ending the premise entirely -- similar to the challenge faced when the show ended its 5-year run on Showtime in Season Five.

The network did not want a cliffhanger, Cooper said, and "out of respect for the fans we wanted that episode to have a little bit of a spirit of closure, a sense of ending without it being an ending. And thus we called it 'Unending.' It's one of those fun science fiction concepts that allows you to have a window into one possible version of the future for these characters."

"The story that we came up with is I think a great, fitting ending to 10 years," Wright said. "[It's] very moving. ... In a way the final episode of SG-1 is called 'Unending' for a reason. It's got an element of a wrap-up. There's a look into the characters and the personality of the characters that [fans] will never see and never be able to see in any other story."

Cooper said that, of all the possible series finales they could have imagined for the show, they never intended to end with a note of finality. "We were never going to blow up the S.G.C. and kill everyone," Cooper joked. "It's apparently quite bad for the reruns! ... We want people to feel as though the Stargate universe is on-going, even though one arm of it is not being produced any more."

The franchise lives on not only through Stargate Atlantis and possible future television series, but SG-1 movies, as well. "It's essentially finally taking this step that Brad and I have always wanted to see it take," he said, "and that's to go to a format that is a longer form, and has a bigger budget, and will allow us to do the kinds of things we want to do. ... The culmination of everything we've been building up to in the last two years with the Ori storyline is going to be paid off in one of the movies that we're doing this year."
