(3.01 & 3.02) Occupation/Precipice
Battlestar Galactica
Occupation/Precipice
Episode Number: 301-302
Original US Airdate: 06-10-2006
The Colonials survive on New Caprica under Cylon rule, with some collaborating and others fighting back. D'Anna discovers that the hybrid child has survived.
NEWS & SPOILERS
Actress Lucy Lawless (D'Anna Biers, the Cylon who posed as a Colonial film maker in Season Two's "Final Cut") joins the cast for a 10-episode arc in Season Three, starting with the long-awaited season premiere!
D'Anna Biers (Lucy Lawless) enters an Oracles tent to visit Selloi Dedona, a frail old woman who is not well. She knows who D'Anna is, and what she is -- a Cylon, "Number Three." But D'Anna herself is not sure why she has come here. The Oracle chews on a handful of chamalla leaves (the planet from which the drug that Laura Roslin once took comes).
Meanwhile, inside the Cylon Planning Ministry, Ellen Tigh is "frakking" an unknown partner. Elsewhere, Tyrol and Anders are a part of a new human resistance movement on New Caprica. They plant a bomb, and attempt to remote detonate it when a Cylon heavy cruiser filled with humanoid Cylons draws near. The device fails at first but later detonates, giving the resistance a much-needed victory.
Laura Roslin remains a school teacher on the planet's surface. Inside her school, she and her former assistant Tory examine several hastily-taken photographs, trying to identify the members of a police force -- possibly humans who are now collaborating with the Cylon occupiers. They await the return of Adama and the Battlestar Galactica.
Saul Tigh, meanwhile, is being held against his will in a Cylon detention facility. Brother Cavil is there, and indicates to him that Tigh may be there a while.
Back in the Oracle's tent, Selloi tells D'Anna that the Cylon has lost her faith -- she not only does not believe in the Colonial pantheon, but not in her own god either. She knows about the dreams that D'Anna has been having, and claims that she is a messenger from God -- just as her dreams are. D'Anna shares the same flaw as the legendary Medusa, she says, and it will lead to her downfall.
Selloi delivers her message to the Cylon: The hybrid child of Sharon Valerii and Karl Agathon is alive. Her name is Hera, and she is alive.

Was meteen eens tuk geloofwaardiger geweest.

http://syfyportal.com/news.php?id=2760'Battlestar Galactica' To Get Two-Hour Premiere
In a surprise move, Michael Rymer will not direct
(July 18 2006) - When "Battlestar Galactica" makes its third season debut in October, it's going to do it in a big way.
The first two episodes will be broadcast as a television movie, continuing the events that unfolded in the final half hour of the second season finale that placed most of the Rag-Tag Fleet on a planet called New Caprica.
"I just thought I'd let you all know that the beginning of Season 3 truly kicks ass," series music composer Bear McCreary said in his blog over the weekend. "I've started writing music for it and I think it's safe to say you'll be blown away. I won't spoil anything (you have each other for that!) but I will say that the season premiere will air as a two-hour movie ... more intense than most films you pay to see in the darkened theater."
Michael Rymer, the man behind the pilot miniseries as well as all the premieres and finales for "Battlestar Galactica" is stepping aside to allow someone else to direct the premiere of the third season, according to TV.com. Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, who directed four episodes in the past including "Captain's Hand," "You Can't Go Home Again" and "Fragged," will direct the first two episodes that will make up the two-hour movie, called "Occupation" and "Precipice." Both episodes have been written by showrunner Ronald D. Moore. Those episodes will see a return of Dean Stockwell as Brother Cavil as well as the first of 10 episodes to feature Lucy Lawless.
The season is tentatively scheduled to premiere Oct. 6 on SciFi Channel, but that date could still be pushed to Oct. 13. - Article by Michael Hinman
