Battlestar SPOILER topic

Episode 5: Torn; November 3, 2006
10/21/06: Roslin likely admits to misleading Helo and Sharon about Hera's death and her likely death (along with Maya) on New Caprica.
10/21/06: Tigh and Kara lead a growing division in the fleet between those who went to New Caprica and those who stayed with the fleet. This leads to a rift between Adama and Tigh that lasts two or three episodes.
10/21/06: The Cylon basestar finds the beacon and is infected. Baltar is sent to investigate. Thus, Caprica Three and the other Cylons also learn the clue about Earth

Episode 6: Measure of Salvation; November 10, 2006
10/21/06: Galactica finds the abandoned basestar. Boarding parties are sent and capture a few survivors. The survivors reveal the source of the virus and that Hera is still alive. It is also learned that not only is Baltar with the Cylons, but he's now attempting to lead the Cylons to Earth.

Episode 7: Hero; November 17, 2006
10/21/06: Adama participated in a covert operation against the Cylons. This and his shooting down Novacek led to Adama's guilt over the Cylon attacks.
10/11/06: Novacek might be a recurring character, or at least not a "one-off." From David Eick's Video Blog
10/7/06: Novacek was held for 4 years. Adama shot down Novacek and believes he might have precipatated the Cylon attacks. Adama and Tigh reconcile.
10/3/06: An Admiral Corman appears in flashbacks.
9/30/06: Carl Lumbly (Alias) portrays Lt. Novacek, the liberated POW.
9/27/06: Preliminary Episode Synopsis: In the days just prior to the Cylon attacks, Adama committed a wrong that's he's managed to keep secret. When a POW is liberated from the basestar, Adama's secret is revealed.

Episode 8: Unfinished Business; November 24, 2006
10/15/06: The present time storyline involves Fight Club-style boxing. [Bleh]
10/7/06: Baltar flashes back to a groundbreaking for a new City Hall on New Caprica with Gaeta by his side. [Um, I hope there is more to this scene other than filler.]
10/7/06: The cause of the deep rift between Lee and Kara (seen in Episode 220) will be revealed.
9/27/06: Preliminary Episode Synopsis: Flashbacks partially fill the year long gap from Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II.

Episode 9: The Passage; December 1, 2006
10/21/06: The fleet's food supply becomes contaminated, which necessitates the immediate need to find a planet. A less than ideal planet is found, but reaching it proves difficult. [The planet has been referred to as Algae, but...]
10/21/06: Caprica Three questions her faith and becomes a heretic.
10/3/06: A couple of characters die. [More of the expendable pilots is my guess.]
10/3/06: Kat is featured in the episode.
10/3/06: Preliminary Episode Description: The fleet makes a "harrowing" passage on their voyage. [The premise sounds like the plot of an original series episode.]

Episode 10: The Eye of Jupiter; December 8, 2006
10/21/06: The stranded survey party finds an abandoned temple that seems to have a clue to the location of Earth. [Hope they explain how a temple with such an important bit of information ends up on a desolate and hard-to-reach planet.]
10/7/06: Anders appears, but don't know if it's only in flashback.
10/3/06: The fleet (Galactica) faces three basestars.
9/27/06: Preliminary Episode Synopsis: With supplies dwindling, Apollo, Cally and Tyrol survey a desolate planet. They are stranded when the Cylons attack the fleet.
9/6/06: Cliffhanger for mid-season hiatus

Episode 11: Rapture; Spring 2007
10/21/06: Sharon and Helo get Hera back from the Cylons, possibly with Adama's direct help. [Either in an active or passive way, Adama would likely have to give his support to their plan because of his control of military assets.]
10/12/06: Baltar returns to the fleet, which sets up one of the storylines for the next episode, 312.
10/7/06: Hera is prominant to the episode.
9/27/06: Preliminary Episode Synopsis: Another clue in the search for Earth. Number Three openly declares herself the Cylon God, which leads to the termination of the entire Three series by the rest of the Cylons. [Guess that's one way to take care of Lucy Lawless being unavailable/unwilling to make subsequent appearances.]
9/6/06: Conclusion to mid-season cliffhanger

Episode 12: Taking a Break From All Your Worries; Spring 2007
10/21/06: The [working]episode title is a reference to a line from the theme song of Cheers, a long running sitcom set in a Boston bar.
10/18/06: Tyrol finds the bar, whose existance is apparently not widely known.
10/18/06: Lee once again pines for Kara. [That might explain some of those marital issues he and Dee are having.]
10/18/06: A Galactica officer attacks Baltar in the brig, stabbing him in the neck with a pen. [Previews have shown Gaeta in the cell with Baltar, but his culpability is speculation at this point.] As a result, Baltar has a near-death experience in which his Inner Six tells him that he's human and thus cannot be resurrected if he dies.
10/7/06: Baltar is in the brig and Roslin visits him. The scene mirrors Baltar's visit to Roslin in Episode 301. Baltar later ends up nearly dying. His Inner Six tells him that he's not a Cylon, but a human. Baltar flashes back to discussions with Number Three concerning the hybrid and the five unknown humanoid models. He was there watching the Three model be terminated and he asked her if he was a Cylon.
10/7/06: Apparently, spending time in the bar helps Dee and Lee "reconnect."
10/3/06: Dee and Lee are still married, but having very public marital problems. [Guess not only is Dee still around, but she and Lee are still together.]
10/3/06: Tigh takes a stand to keep a bar from being closed.
9/27/06: Preliminary Episode Synopsis: Baltar is recaptured and ends up in the brig. He is now suspected of being a Cylon and he's not sure that they are wrong.

Episode 13: The Woman King; Spring 2007
10/21/06: Doctor Robert's medical facility might actually be located on the lower decks of Galactica.
10/12/06: When Helo attempts to move a heavily sedated Hot Dog from Doctor Robert's care, Doctor Robert intervenes by ordering Marines in. Just then Tigh and Cottle arrive, and to Robert's surprise Tigh turns on him. Cottle admits to Helo that he finally did the an autopsy on Willie and found that he died of acute apoptosis, while Buckminster was suffocated. Dr. Robert says that he had only six months to live and he was saving medicine for those who could really use it. Cottle says that they had anemia. Robert then goes on a rant against Saggitarons and blames the genetic condition on their attitude. [Remember, Zarek is a Saggitaron and they have long been looked down upon by the other colonies.] Robert says that he was going to save Hot Dog because he was a pilot and unlike most Sagittarons, willing to defend humanity.
10/12/06: Doctor Robert and Tigh know each and are on friendly terms. Doctor Robert commands Marines, which would seem to indicate that he's in the military structure. Whether or not he's still XO of Galactica, Tigh appears to still be part of the military command since he gives orders to the Marines and Helo.
10/12/06: Dr. Robert had to suture a wound of some kind that Hera had.
9/27/06: Guest cast listed as: Sykes/Burrell, Willie, Portia King, Doctor Robert, Buckminster, Buckminster's Father, Scorpion.
9/27/06: Preliminary Episode Synopsis: Medical care in the fleet is dismal with shortages of medical supplies and practioners. After one such death, a mother is suspicious of the autoposy results. Helo investigates a particular ship's doctor, who seems to discriminate in his treatment of fellow Saggitarons. Helo's daughter Hera ends up under the doctor's care. Hot Dog also comes under the doctor's care. When Helo learns that he isn't doing well, he attempts to have him transferred to Doctor Cottle's care, but the doctor and guards stop him.

Episode 14: A Day in the Life; Spring 2007
10/11/06: Adama and Caroline split after he received his first command. Lee indicates that she turned on him and Zak. Adama seems surprised, but Lee points out that Caroline was already pregnant with him when she and Adama got married. [This implies that they may not have married out of love and that she might have blamed Lee's conception for the unhappy marriage.]
10/11/06: Adama has several introspective sequences where he and his remembered version of Caroline discuss their marriage.
10/11/06: Private Jaffee looks to be little more than a walk-on part and not a pivotal guest character.
10/7/06: Flashbacks include what Lee's life was like after Papadama left.
10/3/06: Adama's reminiscing is triggered by the 29th anniversary of his marrying Caroline.
9/30/06: Caroline is Adama's ex-wife. Presumably, she's seen in flashback.
9/27/06: Guest cast listed as: Private Jaffee, Caroline

Episode 15: Dirty Hands; Spring 2007
10/17/06: With the confusion over episode numbering, it can be hard to sort out what spoilers go with what episode. That said, it is now possible that this episode is the one that has a significant death (rather than the Kara-centric Maelstrom), especially in light of the episode title.
10/17/06: There are nine named guest characters for the episode. [Which tells us almost nothing.]

Episode 16: Maelstrom; Spring 2007
10/17/06: Updated the episode number.
10/13/06: Lee talks to his father just after the admiral has dressed down Kara. [The tone of the conversation seems to imply that Lee and Adama are on decent terms and Lee and Kara are back on speaking terms, at least.]
10/13/06: Adama states that he had to relieve Tigh of his position at some point previously.
10/13/06: Anders and Kara still carry on with each other, but he appears to be staying elsewhere in the fleet and their relationship seems to be more casual as opposed to married.
10/13/06: Kara and Anders talk about her mother, who was a Marine and abusive to Kara.
10/13/06: Ten years ago (eight years before the attacks) Kara had left home pledging never to join the military. Four years later when she returned to visit her mother, she had not only ended up in the military, but was an officer. Her mother was aware of her career, both the achievements and the troubles with discipline. Her mother (like Leoben) believed that Kara was special. They end up arguing before Socrata admits that she has cancer and is dying. Kara left anyway and never came back in spite of her mother's efforts to contact her again.
10/13/06: Kara has a dream where she is at her mother's bedside as she dies. Kara then realizes that the Leoben in her dream isn't really Leoben, but he talks just as metaphysically as the real Leoben as he states that now that she's seen death, she's free to fulfill her "destiny."
10/13/06: Kara apparently experiences these memories and dreams as the atmosphere vents from a crack in her cockpit canopy. She hears a transmission from Lee in his Viper and turns on her transponder.
10/11/06: Episode title added.
10/11/06: Another "Oracle" appears in this episode.
10/11/06: Kara's mother died of cancer about four years before the Cylon attack. One of the flashbacks shows that Kara rejected her mother's efforts to "reach out" to her in their last meeting.
10/7/06: Preliminary Episode Synopsis: Kara is on a mission and ends up unconscious. She has flashbacks in which her mother, Socrata, and Leoben appear. Lee is out in a Viper looking for her when she finally sends a distress signal so he can locate her. She and Anders are separated, but get together occasionally for some "no strings attached action." Kara uses Leoben posters for small arms target practice.
10/5/06: There is supposedly a "significant" death.
10/3/06: Episode features Kara.
