Sarah Jane Investigates is the rumoured working title of a British children's television series under development, to star Elisabeth Sladen and created by Russell T. Davies. The programme would be a spin-off of the long-running BBC science fiction programme Doctor Who, and would focus on the adventures of investigative journalist Sarah Jane Smith. It has been reported as being developed by CBBC.[1][2] However, it has not been officially confirmed by the BBC.

Wordt het nu niet een beetje teveel? We hebben Doctor Who, en dan de spin-off series Torchwood en K-9, die al officieel bevestigd zijn. En nu nog een spin-off serie over Sarah Jane?

Volgens mij wel. Ik heb er nog niet veel van gelezen, maar de naam komt iig al overeen.

Vraag me af hoe ze daar een serie omheen kunnen draaien.
Op de eerste plaats zullen ze de hond wel wat moeten moderniseren. Een serie a la 2006 kan niet met dit lijkt mij:

A proposed K-9 television series or special had been rumoured since the late 1990s, and images of a redesigned K9 were leaked. However, nothing became of this effort until 2006.

On April 24, 2006 The Independent, the Daily Star and The Times confirmed, following previous rumours, that K-9 would be featured in a 26-part children's series, K-9 Adventures, to be written by Bob Baker.[4] The article in The Times also featured a picture of the redesigned K-9 for the animated series.[5] The series will be a blend of live-action and a CGI K-9.

Each episode will be 30 minutes long, made by Jetix Europe and London-based distribution outfit Park Entertainment. According to a report in Broadcast magazine, the BBC opted out of involvement in order to focus on their own Doctor Who spin-off, Torchwood, meaning that BBC-owned characters are unlikely to appear in the series. A broadcast date for the series has not been officially announced, but Baker has said that an early 2008 debut is planned

Multi-award winning writer Russell T Davies has written a brand new series for CBBC called The Sarah Jane Adventures. It stars one of The Doctor's most famous companions, investigative journalist Sarah Jane Smith.

Russell T Davies says: "Children's TV has a fine history of fantasy thrillers - I loved them as a kid, and they were the very first things I ever wrote. So it's brilliant to return to such a vivid and imaginative area of television."

The series begins with a 60-minute special which will be broadcast in early 2007 with the series due later in the year.

Set in present-day West London, the programme stars original Sarah Jane actress Elisabeth Sladen and Yasmin Paige, who plays her 13-year-old neighbour Maria.

The two form an unlikely alliance to fight evil alien forces at work in Britain.

Elisabeth says: "I left Sarah Jane but she never left me. I can't wait to return to Cardiff to find out what's going to happen to her next."

In the special, Maria and Sarah Jane are brought together in their battle against the scheming Ms Wormwood, played by Samantha Bond.

Filming begins next month on location in Wales, with the series going into production in spring 2007.

Creative Director of CBBC, Anne Gilchrist, says: "CBBC viewers have already proved themselves to be enormous fans of Dr Who. I am thrilled that they'll now have this new series as an extra-special treat."

Sarah Jane Smith was a companion to the third and fourth Doctors, Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, and was a regular in the series from 1973 to 1976.

She made a recent return in the 2006 episode School Reunion opposite David Tennant, the tenth Doctor.

Russell T Davies' hugely successful Doctor Who has a Christmas Special due this year, with a third series broadcast in Spring 2007.

The hotly-anticipated Torchwood, following the adventures of Captain Jack, begins this autumn on BBC THREE.

The Sarah Jane Adventures is written by Russell T Davies and Gareth Roberts. It was commissioned by Jane Tranter for BBC Drama, and Anne Gilchrist and Jon East for CBBC. It is produced by BBC Wales and will transmit on the CBBC Channel and CBBC on BBC ONE.

The Executive Producers are Julie Gardner and Russell T Davies. The Producer of the special is Susie Liggat and the Director is Colin Teague. The Producer of the series is Matthew Bouch and the Series Producer is Phil Collinson.

Maria becomes intrigued by the strange goings on at Sarah Jane's house but, before she can investigate, she's whisked away by her new friend, Kelsey, to the brightly coloured, but sinister, Bubbleshock factory.

As Sarah Jane tries to find out what the mysterious Mrs Wormwood is doing at the factory, Maria and Kelsey embark on a tour which leads them into the path of a monstrous creature and a strange young boy with no name or past.

When Sarah Jane and Maria discover the secret ingredient of Bubbleshock, they realise they are the only ones who can stop Mrs Wormwood and her evil plans for the human race.

Maria is played by Yasmin Page, Kelsey by Porsha Lawrence Mavour, Mrs Wormwood by Samantha Bond and the young boy/Luke by Thomas Knight.

Eerste aflevering wordt rond kerst uitgezonden. Wordt dus een drukke tijd voor de Doctor who fans: Doctor Who Kerstspecial, Torchwood, en The Sarah Jane Adventures.

ben daar verder mee dan jou

maar ik heb besloten dat ik de laatste helft van seizoen 2 pas op de dvd wil zien dus nog effe 10 dagen wachten ongeveer

en dr who komt ook op tv als ik me niet vergis zag daar laatst een kort stukje van, vond het toen eerlijk gezegd beetje vaag met zon robot gastje dat wel uit de jaren 70 films had kunnen komen, maar voor de rest wel leuk

Hou er ook rekening mee dat de verschillende spinoffs ook op andere zenders en andere tijden komen he.

Sarah Jane is op CBBC net als K9, en dus echt bedoeld voor het jongere publiek. Doctor Who komt op BBC op primetime zaterdagavond en is voor de hele familie, Torchwood is met zijn 22:00 op zondag echt bedoeld voor het volwassen publiek. Dat zie je ook erg af aan de inhoud. Ik vind dat BBC een goeie poging doet om in één universe een heel scala aan publiek aan te spreken. Kan niet wachten tot hier weer de schotel aangesloten zit en ik in HDTV kan kijken

tuurlijk is het leuk om series voor meerdere publieken te hebben, maar als je dat zo doet weet ik niet of je alles wel serieus kan nemen.

stel dat ze ook een star trek voor kinderen hadden, met allemaal leuke en lieve verhaaltjes over de Romulans en Klingons, dat zou aan de kwaliteit van Voy/Tng en Ds9 afdoen omdat het in hetzelfde universum gebeurd.

Maar nogmaals ik heb het nog niet gezien, Torchwood ga ik binnenkort effe bekijken als ik klaar ben met battlestar seizoen 2, nog 4 daagjes wachten!!!

moet ik ook wat voorkennis hebben om torchwood te begrijpen?

Torchwood mag zich trouwens wel richten op het (meer) volwassen publiek, maar het blijft behoorlijk semi-serieus. Vergelijk het met écht volwassen BBC series zoals Spooks en The State Within, en je weet wat ik bedoel

Wie heeft hier trouwens de eerste aflevering gezien?

Ik vond het wel een leuke aflevering, echt in de style van Sarah Jane geschreven. Beetje voorspelbaar, maar dat krijg je al gauw met zoveel uur aan SF op tv.

Ik heb het gezien, maar vond het wat te kinderachtig voor mij smaak. Was duidelijk gericht op jonge meiden en daarom laat ik het ook afweten denk ik. Was wel aardig hoor, maar niet mijn style Ik houd het op Doctor who en Torchwood

Inmiddels zijn 1x01 en 1x02 uitgezonden Met dank aan Vis heb ik deze kunnen kijken.
Het publiek is idd de wat jongere volwassen. De serie mag dan wel Sarah Jones heten, maar de focus lijkt mij wat meer te liggen op de ongeveer 14 jarige kinderen.
Weliswaar met de slytherins, maar toch iets minder evil lijkt mij.

Al met al, leuke serie om even rustig tussendoor te kijken met de hoop misschien eens een crossover te zien

Russell T. Davies returns to Doctor Who
Monday, 19 April 2010 15:40 Leo Porter TV - DOCTOR WHO ...and will write Matt Smith's Doctor into The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Clearly feeling the withdrawal pangs from the end of his tenure as Doctor Who's producer, Russell T. Davies will get a real chance to pen Matt Smith's interpretation of the Doctor for two episodes of the Doctor Who spin-off series The Sarah Jane Adventures.

The two episodes that RTD will write will also feature the first return of 1970s 'Pertwee-era' assistant Jo Grant, as played by Katy Manning, who got into a little trouble in the 1970s by posing nude with some Daleks. The link below has a link to those pictures, if you're interested, but it's clearly all time-flux under the bridge now.

The Sarah Jane Adventures, starring Pertwee/Baker assistant Elizabeth Sladen, has proved a good secondary point of display for a number of new Who characters including the Slitheen and the Sontarans, and it's also the only place K9 fans can get any kind of tin-dog fix these days, since the robotic pooch ended up in Sarah Jane's care, despite, in all truth, being the pet of Leela (Louise Jameson) in the Tom Baker days.

The Sarah Jane Adventures - Series Four

Doctor Who Magazine has revealed the episode titles for the fourth series of The Sarah Jane Adventures, due to be shown in the UK this Autumn.

The series will again consist of six, two-part stories. A number of guest stars are also announced including Julian Bleach, who is playing the Nightmare Man, Cheryl Campbell, Cyril Nri, Julie Graham and of course Matt Smith and Katy Manning.

Feitelijk krijgen we dus dit jaar nog een extra ep doctor who (is ook al gefilmd dit voorjaar). Titel is in ieder geval genoeg voor een hoop speculatie. Er wordt gezegd dat het probleem van de "regenration limit" in deze ep opgelost gaat worden. De rest van de serie zal ik hoe dan ook niet zien, SJA is niet helemaal mijn ding.
