There has been quite a lot of confusion concerning the DVD releases of this fall. Apparently, several Star Trek releases that were due in the stores last month have not been made available. We are talking about both the anniversary sets and the DS9 slimline repacks.
According to fanclub The Flying Dutch, the DS9 sets have been pushed back for a 2007 release. It is unknown what has happened to the anniversary sets, but it is quite possible that they have been cancelled since it would make no sense to release an anniversary boxset the year after the actual anniversary.
However, according to DVD-Home, 2007 will not only see the release of the slimline DS9 repacks, but also the release of the Voyager and Original Series repacks. Voyager should be released in september and TOS in november 2007. That means a total of 17 DVD sets will be released in 2007: 7 DS9, 7 Voyager and 3 TOS. At this point we do not yet have any artwork of the boxsets but we will publish it as soon as it becomes available.
To finalise this update: the Animated Series release is still on track and should be in the stores in less than 3 weeks.
