Qua verhaal vond ik de vorige ep absoluut beter, qua goede momenten voor de dokter was dit absoluut de beste ep van het seizoen. Dokter onder de douche, dokter die mensen begroet, dokter aan het voetballen, dokter die praat met een kat....

Nu de speculaties: Wie heeft deze "tardis" gebouwd. Ik ga voor Amy voorlopig. Zijn ook veel mensen die uitgaan van het feit dat het River is. Mensen die wat meer fan zijn van de oude serie hopen op de terugkeer van the rani of romana. Tjah...we zullen moeten wachten dat het geval nog terug zal komen is voor mij wel zeker.

A BBC spokesperson has denied rumours that Matt Smith was naked in a recent episode of Doctor Who.

In 'The Lodger', which aired on Saturday, the Doctor dropped his towel as he left the bathroom.

According to the Daily Star, fans later claimed that they could see that Smith was completely nude and told other viewers when to pause the footage to catch a glimpse.

However, a BBC spokesperson said: "Fans might speculate about what they saw. But I can assure them that Matt wasn't totally naked when he filmed these scenes. He was sporting an item to protect his modesty."

Dokter heeft hier duidelijk een "time agent" armband om (zo'n zelfde ding als captain jack). Het lijkt er dus op dat hij NIET met de Tardis terug in de tijd gaat. Cool idee...maar van wie zou hij het ding hebben? Mijn gok, River

Er is nog meer waar dit vandaan gekomen is,, voornamelijk de monsters die te zien zijn (daleks, cyberman enz). Maargoed, dat was allemaal eigenlijk al wel bekend en is in die zin dus geen "nieuws"

Onderstaande is niet echt een spoiler maar een theorie over wat de pandorica nou eigenlijk is. Ik heb het wel als spoiler neer gezet omdat ik neit zeker weet in hoeverre iedereen bij is. Het is niet mijn eigen theorie, maar het is wel de theorie waarvan ik het meeste hoop dat het werkelijkheid gaat worden.

The reason so many alien races are converging on the Pandorica is to ensure the Doctor goes in.The reason River Song exists is to tempt him there.. To kill the greatest man she ever knew, for one hell of a bounty from the assembled races. Ironically before she's actually got to know him.

With him gone, everything he ever did, everything he ever will do ceases to happen (and that includes the fixed points in time he was involved with). But rather than grant the Doctors enemy's a million victories... his removal begins to unravel the very universe itself... wherever he's been begins to "crack" and become undone.

There's only one person who can help him... the person there at the one crack he closed.. The one person immune to it's effects.. little Amelia pond... Remember what he told her when she was seven? You won't.. because he hasn't told her... Yet

Broadcaster Stephen Fry last night hit out at the "infantilism" of British TV and said that heavily promoted shows like Doctor Who, while being good programmes, were the equivalent of chicken nuggets.

He also spoke of the "absurdity" of some compliance rules, and said "fear" is everywhere in the television industry in this country.

Fry, who hosts QI, said that the programmes were "like a chicken nugget. Every now and again we all like it … But if you are an adult you want something surprising, savoury, sharp, unusual, cosmopolitan, alien, challenging, complex, ambiguous, possibly even slightly disturbing and wrong.

"You want to try those things, because that's what being adult means."

Fry was delivering the Bafta Annual Television Lecture in central London.

During a question and answer session after his speech, Fry told the audience: "If I wanted to be angry … I would say infantilism's the problem.

"The number of times I turn on the television and I think 'Gosh, children's television's gone on, that's a really good art documentary … Oh my God, it's nine o'clock in the evening. This is for grown-ups?' It's just shocking.

"The only drama the BBC will boast about are Merlin and Doctor Who, which are fine, but they're children's programmes. They're not for adults.

"And they're very good children's programmes, don't get me wrong, they're wonderfully written … but they are not for adults.

Fry said he was not arguing that all television should be pompous, academic or intellectual.

"But they ought to surprise and to astonish and to make us feel perhaps the possibility there is a world outside that we know nothing of to provoke us, to provoke in the best sense of the word, sometimes in the worst sense," he said.

"To surprise us, to outrage us."

Fry also highlighted what he felt was a lack of confidence among producers, although said the BBC would point to shows such as Gavin and Stacey and Little Britain.

He said: "These are very successful. But they are also unbelievably Balkanised.

"They are set into a particular demographic. This is what I mean by television not being the nation's fireplace. ..

"It's just all parcelled and I don't know that there's a solution to it."

Fry said that compliance issues and boxes that had to be ticked were what "everyone knows the public don't want".

He also said that the Sachsgate scandal involving Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand helped fuel a sense of "fear".

He mentioned a friend who was involved in making an episode of spy drama Spooks who was told a character had to wear a seatbelt in their car while saving London in the plot.

He also said it was mentioned the actor should pull over while talking on the phone, despite someone having been shot in an earlier scene.

Fry later said: "The temptation to scream 'F*** off' so loudly... there is no possible excuse, defence or claim that you can make that justifies such absurdity.

najah, en daar wordt de serie ook niet primair voor gemaakt dus is dat niet erg. Wat hij vooral heel vervelend vindt is het feit dat er zo weinig goede programma's voor volwassenen zijn en dat het daarom tragisch is dat de beste dramashow van de BBC doctor who is...en ik vind eigenlijk dat hij daar ook wel gelijk in heeft. Niet omdat doctor who slecht is (verre van dat) maar omdat de BBC beter kan

Fans in London were given a special preview of the penultimate episode of the current series, The Pandorica Opens, at BAFTA earlier this evening. The screening was attended by Steven Moffat, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan who answered questions at the end of the screening.

Introducing the episode Ben Stephenson, Controller, BBC Drama Commissioning, paid tribute to the current prodcution team. In a speech which left no doubt to the high regard the series is held in by BBC Management, he paid particular tribute to Steven Moffat saying how no other broadcaster in the UK or the USA had such a brilliant writer producing such high quality family drama. He called The Pandorica Opens a tremendous piece of television.

Following the episode a wide range of questions were put to the team. Matt Smith revealed he had had initial doubts about the way he was playing the Doctor and often spoke to his dad for advice. He was delighted when a six year old, dressed in tweed jacket and bow tie presented him with a gift of a picture. Smith revealed he had been to a costume fitting for the next series earlier today and he was looking for something warmer to wear in the future.

Steven Moffat was asked about Steven Fry's comments yesterday, where he described Doctor Who as Children's Television. Moffat said Doctor Who always was, and always will be, family television. Designed for that special period when both children and their parents could watch together. When asked about the move of viewers from watching the programme as broadcast to watching later, either on harddisk or via the iPlayer, he called on BBC One controller Jay Hunt who was also in the audience. She confirmed the BBC was aware of the massive reach the programme had and said she didn't mind when they watched it as long as they did.

He paid tribute to the classic series, singling out Waris Hussein who was in the audience. Hussein directed the very first episode of Doctor Who, screened in November 1963. Moffat called it a wonderful half an hour of television and urged anyone who had not yet seen it to view it.

The Pandorica Opens has its début on BBC One and BBC HD this Saturday evening.

ik heb inderdaad ook een "wow" gevoel. Is ook voor het eerst in tijden dat ik niet vooraf kan voorspellen hoe het allemaal opgelost gaat worden. Heb wel een idee, maarja...dat is een idee

heb nog wel een aantal kleine opmerkingen over de ep, maar die volgen later (en dat gaat het om hele kleine dingen, ik ben goed "gewowd" door de ep ondanks het feit dat ik al wel een redelijk idee had waarvoor de pandorica was )

dat type mega cliffhangers doet doctor who niet...dus het zal allemaal wel redelijk opgelost worden (hoewel ik niet denk dat we achter alles komen, ik vermoed vooral dat we alleen maar een hint krijgen over wie zeg "silence will fall" - het is heel duidelijk dat er de laatste ep twee krachten werkten, de verenigde rassen die het universum van de dokter wilden redden en de persoon die de tardis "bestuurt" (gok: Omega...maar dat is echt speculatie)
