Registratienummer is NCC-1031 wat zou betekenen dat het na Enterprise zou plaatsvinden, maar voor TOS.

Teaser is echt slecht. CGI ziet er verschrikkelijk uit. Ben wat teleurgesteld. Gelukkig is er tijdens de pers interviews verteld dat de design niet definitief is en hopelijk ziet het schip er in januari 2017 beter uit.

nou ja, kwaliteit vind ik nog wel meevallen.. als dit slecht is, dan is goed iets waar ik graag naar uitkijk

The ship design is an interesting choice, heavily influenced by Ralph McQuarrie’s concepts for an Enterprise redesign during the abandoned Phase II series/telemovies.

Design is wel interessant. Doet me qua feel wat denken aan Destiny uit Stargate Universe.

CGI is erg matig... Het is nog net geen Babylon 5-niveau, maar dit had veel beter gekund. Een random texture pack toepassen met een paar klikken had al veel gescheeld. Alles is nog niet verloren, maar het is wel een vreemde keuze om zoiets te releasen, zeker in 2016 en tijdens zo'n event.

Ze hebben al wat aangepast:

Everybody got a glimpse of what the ship looked like as a work in progress, and so much of that has already changed because that was — that design wasn’t even finalized. It was, like, ‘What can we share with folks at Comic-Con that lets them into the process?’

And already I look at that design and go like, ‘We’ve got different nacelles. We’ve got different lines there.’ So it’s an evolution, and we’re finding that look as we get closer and closer to production.

Ben benieuwd naar het uiteindelijke design. Met wat aanpassingen zouden ze het schip mooier kunnen maken.

Wat aan de ene kant logisch is, ze wilden *iets* laten zien, maar aan de andere kant natuurlijk ook super stom. Vooral omdat het geen origineel eigen ontwerp was.

There are many little references to "Star Trek: Enterprise", of which season 3 and especially season 4 were really good. The uniforms of Captain Balthazar Edison's crew really looked like a streamlined combination of Captain Archer's crew and the Kelvin timeline Captain Kirk. Captain Edison also shortly mentioned The Xindi. Make no mistake, "Star Trek: Enterprise" now serves as a bridge between the Kelvin Timeline and the Prime Timeline. "Enterprise" in a way is part of both timelines.

And there are some nice comparisons already with the saucer section of the USS Franklin and the upcoming USS Discovery from the new series "Star Trek: Discovery". You see this fishbone-like array? It could very well be the predecessor of 24th century phaser arrays. But both the USS Franklin and the USS Discovery -both Prime Timeline ships- have it:

Meh, niet zo geslaagd IMHO

Ik vind ook dat andere schip uit de trailer een stuk mooier

Schijnt een ietwat verouderde versie te zijn, de nacelles zijn iets korter nu.
