In Articles of the Federation kwam de volgende geniale bijnaam voor Janeway naar voren:

Admiral Wrongway

Als ik dit boek om een heleboel andere redenen niet al geniaal had gevonden was het na de passage waar dit in voorkwam helemaal zo geweest.

En voor de complete context...lees het boek, lees je eens een goed Star Trek boek waarin de karakters toch hun recht komen, een goed verhaal verteld wordt en we eindelijk eens iets nieuws zien als het gaat om het functioneren van de Federatie en dan vooral Starfleet.

William J. Birnes natuurlijk, de naam van Phillips staat er alleen maar bij om het boek ook nog daadwerkelijk te verkopen. TC zou het alleen maar kopen als de naam van Mulgrew erop stond...

ja ook waar zover ik weet heefd in de serie 7 jaar de bammaning geklaagt over het eten

wel over dat het me grappig lijkt om het te hebben, als ik em niet zelf hoef te betalen wil ik er best eens iets uit maken

The book's very name, The Star Trek Cookbook, conjures images of strange dishes and exotic drinks. Neelix introduces most of the dishes before giving the Earth recipe, and even recounts tales of his experiences with the crew members who enjoy them. For pure reading and browsing enjoyment, check out those sections. I had to laugh out loud at many of Neelix's anecdotes.

If you're feeling shy of alien style foods, don't worry, there are many traditional Earth recipes in here as well, favourites of characters like Captain Sisko, Bones, and Chief O'Brien. Or have an Earl Gray, hot.

Several non-Neelix sections, written by Voyager property manager Alan Simms, explain the secrets of Trek food props. You do want your Kanar and Blood Wine to look authentic, don't you? If you've ever considered throwing a Star Trek theme party, you'll find this book your most valuable resource. Even if you haven't, you may want to consider it now.

A review of The Star Trek Cookbook would be incomplete without personal experience, so my wife and I invited my parents over for a Star Trek dinner.

When my dad came in, he immediately asked, "We're not going to eat worms, are we?" Well, we did have gagh! We also served Hasperat, a Bajoran snack food, Klingon Ale, and Vulcan Mocha. Now, don't make gagh with real worms. On Earth, we make it with noodles. Since I wanted little meat with the meal, I cut up some beef into worm-like strips, so we had a mixed gagh. There are over 51 varieties, the book says. It seemed a reasonable addition.

Dinner tasted delicious. As we polished off the Hasperat, my mother and wife each said that it would make a great hors d'oeuvre for any party, a welcome change from the usual chips and dip fare. The gagh made a satisfying main course. It's quite filling, so we had leftovers, which I enjoyed for lunch the next day. Now, I think it was better the first night. Gagh is always best served fresh.

The Vulcan Mocha Ice Cream kept me wired for several hours. What's in it? Take some good chocolate ice cream, mix in finely ground espresso beans, then refreeze. No wonder Vulcans are so alert. For those cooks who like to make everything from scratch, Neelix gives a more time-consuming version of the recipe.

I intend to try many of the other alien foods later, like the Trill soup, Azna, and the Telaxian Gaborsti Stew. I'll also have to make both hot and cold Tranya the next time we have guests over.

More than just a book of tasty recipes, The Star Trek Cookbook shares insights into many of Star Trek's main characters. Ik ken de twee titels, eerste is een vrij middelmatig boek waaruit zelfs op conventies niet meer gekookt wordt. Tweede is naar mijn mening een erg overgewaardeerd boek. Robert Picardo kan het beter bij zingen laten, daar is ie echt goed in (zeker samen met Tim Russ). Of hij kan natuurlijk ook weer gewoon betaald werk zoeken.

Het lijkt me inderdaad wel leuk om een Star Trek kookboek te hebben. Jammer dat Neelix dan op de voorkant moet staan, maarja... Het is voorlopig het enige Star Trek kookboek lijkt mij.
En ik houd wel van een beetje exotische gerechten.

Er staat altijd bij hoelang het ongeveer duurt voordat het boek komt. Engelstalige boeken zijn bijna altijd 5 tot 7 werkdagen (maandag tot vrijdag dus!!!). Mijn ervaringen zijn heel verschillend. Soms gaat het vlug, soms duurt het langer, maar er is nog nooit iets niet bezorgd. Als ik iets heel graag optijd wil hebben dan mail ik de klantenservice voordat ik bestel met de vraag hoelang ze er over doen als het vlug gaat (dit is vooral bij studieboeken soms heel handig). Het meest toffe aan Bol blijft echter dat je pas na zes weken kan betalen (als je tenminste niet zenuwachtig wordt van aanmaningen enzo).

Ik zou 't als ik jou was rustig afwachten, Star Trek boeken komen hoe dan ook altijd wel (hangt er een beetje vanaf of ze op voorraad zijn of niet). Ze zijn hoe dan ook veel goedkoper dan bij de Tille in Leeuwarden (afzetters daar zeg).

daar heb ik spirit walk book one gekocht

bij bol.com komt het met de verzend kosten net boven de 10 euro uit
hoewel er ook duurdere boeken bij bol zijn

voyager 1.15 Echoes kost bij bol ook 11 euro

Zal wel hardcover zijn dan. Laatste keer dat ik bij de Tille was (afgelopen donderdag) kosten de boeken al 12,50...wat echt veel te duur is (als je dan wat meer boeken wil hebben is het bijna de moeite om even op te sparen wat je allemaal wil hebben en een reisje naar GB te maken...of naar Belgenland).

Als je Star Trek boeken toch via internet koopt is Proxis.nl trouwens een goede winkel. Goedkoper dan bol.com.

Betalen met acceptgiro kan daar alleen niet.

Precies, das het hele punt waarom ik daar niets koop. Bol doet aan gratis leningen tot de volgende stufi gestort is...Proxis schrijft af wanneer ze er zelf zin in hebben
